The Story Behind the Practice
Gianna’s journey through movement, healing, and the power of slowing down.
Movement has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up training and competing as a gymnast, eventually earning a spot on the Penn State gymnastics team. Those years instilled in me discipline, strength, and a deep respect for the body’s capabilities—but also a tendency to push past limits without always listening to what my body needed.
Everything shifted when I traveled to Bali to complete my 200-hour yoga teacher training. That experience cracked something open in me. It was the first time I slowed down enough to truly feel my body, rather than perform through it. I began to understand my nervous system, my breath, and how movement could be both healing and sustainable when approached with awareness and care.
When I moved to Chicago, I started working at StretchLab, where I spent three years working one-on-one with clients in a hands-on, personalized setting. This gave me a whole new lens on functional anatomy, flexibility, and the unique ways each body holds tension and seeks release. I also began teaching Pure Barre, which added another layer to my understanding of alignment, strength, and subtle body awareness.
All of these experiences—gymnastics, yoga, assisted stretching, barre—have led me to create a one-on-one yoga and stretch practice that is intentional, intuitive, and deeply personalized. I’m here to help people reconnect to their bodies, move in ways that feel nourishing, and develop a sense of safety and agency in their own skin.
This work isn’t about pushing harder—it’s about tuning in, softening where we can, and building strength where it counts. It’s about curiosity, care, and creating space to feel again.
